Parish Picnic

The 2022 Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal will be conducted at our parish next weekend. Once a year, our Bishop asks each of us to make a commitment to support the work of diocesan programs and ministries that provide services that no one parish can offer on its own. Your gift helps our Church to serve the poor, the sick, the distressed, our children and our elderly.
As parishioners of St. Thomas we are being asked to serve others by sharing our resources. Your generosity enables us to accompany our brothers and sisters in need.
Our parish target is $40,000. Your financial support of the Appeal also provides funding for our parish since once achieving the goal assigned to our parish, once we are over goal, we receive (50%) of monies collected for our own parish and ministry needs.
Please prayerfully consider your generous gift to this Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal. Kindly decide ahead of time the contribution you wish to make this year and come to church next week prepared to complete your pledge and offer your support to our parish, and the Diocese of Wilmington.

Catholics from throughout the diocese are invited to receive the sacrament of reconciliation at any of the 56 parish churches in Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore during the first-ever diocesan-wide “Reconciliation Monday.” In an effort to get the word out, 10 billboards contain the message in various places throughout the diocese.
The event is designed to make it more convenient for Catholics to make confession at the end of Lent and beginning of Holy Week, in anticipation of the celebration of Easter.
Fridays during Lent
The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed at 5pm followed by an hour of silent prayer and adoration.
Come and go as you like.
Stations of the Cross will begin at 6pm followed by Benediction
Your help is needed in Ukraine where there are already more than 2.9 million people in need of assistance. There is great risk of additional suffering both within Ukraine and for those who may flee to neighboring countries for safety. CRS and our partners are preparing, and we need immediate support to meet both ongoing needs, as well as those related to families forced to flee their homes as the situation intensifies.
Lord Jesus Christ,
We ask that you enlighten our minds, inflame our hearts,
and make us aware of your great love for us.
Increase in us the faith that you are truly here
in the Eucharist and in every member of our Church.
You have defeated death itself and called us to you by our Baptism.
Thank you for the ways you have blessed our parish community.
Help us to communicate to others the joy we have received.
We ask this in your Holy Name.
Amen.
Wednesday, March 2
Masses at 8am and 6pm
Physician-assisted suicide legislation is once again before the Delaware General Assembly. Efforts on the part of the Catholic community, other faith groups, medical professionals, Saint Francis Healthcare, and advocates for persons with disabilities, kept this legislation from becoming law in recent legislative sessions. We need to do so again this year, and are asking for your help. You are invited to become informed and involved in this important issue.
